When the Aussie Millions went quiet for six years, there was a real question — not about its history, but about whether it would still land the same way.

This is a tournament that has built legends. That part is already written.
But poker doesn’t wait, and not every comeback hits.

This one did.

The series returned to Crown Melbourne and immediately pulled strong local and international fields, with early events already surpassing expectations. The room is full, the energy is there, and the numbers back it up.

Tournament director Danny McDonagh, a respected figure on the international circuit, highlighted multiple seven-figure prize pools already building across the schedule.

A Different Kind of Game

Poker in Australia plays differently — and you feel it right away.

It’s aggressive. Players aren’t waiting around for perfect spots — they’re building pots, applying pressure, and forcing decisions earlier than you might expect.

And just as important, the dealers are some of the best in the game. Professional, sharp, and consistent — they keep everything moving without breaking the flow. There’s no drag between hands, no long pauses. The game has rhythm.

That combination matters.

More hands. More pressure. More decisions stacking up over time.

You don’t get to settle in — you have to keep up.

Yesha Punjabi’s Final Table Run

That pace shows up in who’s still standing at the end.

The Aussie Millions has also made a point to support women in the game, creating a welcoming environment where more women are showing up and competing in these fields.

In Event #4, the $1.5K Mystery Bounty, 912 entries came through.

From that, Yesha Punjabi played her way to 5th place, earning $36,115 AUD — finishing ahead of more than 900 players in one of the biggest early events of the series.

Her run ended five-handed after getting her chips in with ace-five, running into king-ten suited, with a king on the board turning into trip kings by the river.

According to The Hendon Mob, Punjabi has $117,909 in live earnings, with multiple final tables and tournament wins already on her résumé, including a A$100,000 ($70,932 USD) score at the APL Million Sydney Main Event.

It’s the kind of result that fits exactly what this series has always done — put players in position to be seen.

With the way this return has landed, this is one players should already be thinking about for next year.

The environment stands out — exceptional staff and dealers, an all-star tournament director, and the backing of all of Crown Casino Melbourne. The numbers are already there, with record player turnout and prize pools building across the series.

Players are going to be planning for this one.
